Our team recently visited a cashew nut processing group in southern Tanzania whose members came together to access financing through Victoria Finance's Loans — our Group Loans product designed for community groups and cooperatives.

Group Loans allow members of an organised group to co-guarantee one another and access financing that would be difficult to secure individually, including for shared assets such as processing machinery. This group used their loan to acquire cashew processing equipment, allowing them to process raw cashew nuts locally rather than selling them unprocessed.

Processing their own harvest means the group captures more of the value from each season's crop, while creating additional income opportunities for members within their community.

This visit reflects Victoria Finance's continued commitment to group and solidarity lending as a way to extend financing to farmers and entrepreneurs who are organised collectively, strengthening cashew and other agricultural value chains across Tanzania.
